DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a member of the Inventory Management team, you will play a crucial role in overseeing and managing various material inventory programs and systems. You will actively contribute to the development and recommendation of inventory practices that enhance operational decision-making and improve inventory control policies and procedures. Additionally, you are responsible for generating comprehensive reports on materials usage, purchasing activities, and costs. By analyzing system data, you are able to create trend reports that provide valuable insights into the current inventory status. Moreover, you are entrusted with managing and maintaining master data in SAP Plant Maintenance for Highway and Highway related materials inventory. This involves reviewing and analyzing Department data on inventory levels and usage to identify areas for optimization. Your recommendations aim to streamline inventory quantities and promote just-in-time delivery of materials, thereby minimizing costs and maximizing budget effectiveness.

In addition to their core responsibilities, you will actively participate in the planning, development, and implementation of the Statewide Maintenance Accreditation Performance Index (MAPI), Inventory Control Metric. You may be assigned the task of issuing monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports to field organizations, including Assistant District Executives for Maintenance, to assess their progress in meeting Inventory Control goals. Furthermore, you will contribute to the development of statewide reports that provide analytical tools and information to support managerial decisions and actions. As part of their role, you will review inventory reports to ensure compliance with policy and procedure guidelines.

You will also provide valuable assistance during the Engineering District PennDOT Inventory Management Quality Assurance Review (PIMQAR) conducted on-site. You will actively review and evaluate inventory programs to determine the extent to which goals and objectives are being achieved. Additionally, you will play a crucial role in coaching and training organizations on how to effectively utilize existing inventory management reports, implement best practices, and identify improvement opportunities. To ensure sustained progress, you will conduct periodic follow-ups to assess and provide assistance in implementing necessary improvements. Through your expertise and guidance, you will contribute to enhancing the overall efficiency and effectiveness of inventory management processes.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year of experience as a Management Analyst 1; or
  • Two years of experience in technical management analysis work, and a bachelor's degree; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
  • This particular position also requires possession of a current driver's license which is not under suspension.
