Overview

General Dynamics Ordnance and Tactical Systems (GD-OTS), a premier provider of ordnance weapons and tactical systems to the U.S. Department of Defense and allied nations, has an opening for a Financial Specialist I to join our Scranton / Wilkes-Barre, PA (NEPA) team. Summary:

Performs a variety of financial activities, including accounting, financial analysis, audit, tax, credit and collections. Develops and evaluates financial plans and policies. Establishes and maintains accounting, financial, and reporting policies and controls.

Major Position Responsibilities
    Gathers, maintains and interprets financial data to assist in corporate financial decisions
  • Maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded
  • Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger
  • Compiles financial data to aid management in the preparation of balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports
  • Assists in analyzing current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses
  • Participates in the development and maintenance of financial policies and procedures

Basic Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Associates Degree
  • Equivalent combination of relevent education and/or experience
  • 0-2 years of relevant experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting/Cost Estimating or related Finance degree
  • Knowledge of Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and Cost Accounting Standards (CAS)
  • Knowledge of financial management principles, program planning, Earned Value (EV) reporting for government contracts, budgeting and practices

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Possesses and applies a broad knowledge of concepts, principles, practices and procedures of specialization to the completion of difficult assignments
  • Strong computer skills, administrative data control, scheduling and team interface
  • Strong written, digital and verbal communication skills in both an individual and team environment
  • Looks for ways to improve and promote quality
  • Must be able to possess strong, planning, execution and multitasking skills and have demonstrated ability to reprioritize on the fly
  • Must be able to manage quickly changing priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Works within the highest level of integrity, ethics and safety

Pay Range (USD)
Note: The compensation information listed is a good faith estimate range for this position, it is estimated based on what a successful applicant might be paid: $49,700.00 - $92,300.00
