Clinician - Counseling Services

We are looking for a compassionate Student Counseling Clinician to serve our diverse student body by providing friendly, professional, and empathetic counseling services.

This is a full-time, 10-month position (Aug 1st - May 31st) reporting to the Director of Counseling Services.

Salary: $48,700 - $64,900/year

Duties: As clinician, you will:

  • Provide comprehensive prevention, assessment, and intervention services at our on-campus office, meeting students "where they are."
  • Evaluate and treat our students, who will rely on you to counsel them on a variety of concerns throughout the semester.
  • Conduct individual, group, and virtual sessions in an organic counseling environment - always ready for walk-ins in addition to appointments.
  • Perform other clerical duties to keep the office running well.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree or higher in human service, counseling, psychology, or social work.
  • Independent license in Pennsylvania or able to obtain license within six months.
  • Two or more years' experience in providing individual counseling services.
  • Experience in providing individual, group, and educational sessions and presentations.
  • Knowledge of brief short-term modalities, substance abuse treatment, crisis interventions, and suicide assessments

Preference given to applicants with experience working with college-age and diverse populations.

Job Summary

Provides targeted, advanced-level, clinical psychotherapy services addressing a range of mental health concerns for a diverse population of students/clients utilizing specialized techniques to foster student development, remediate mental health problems, and promote positive mental health. Facilitates comprehensive assessments and treatments, referrals for hospitalizations, and case reviews.


Essential Functions

Provide direct and indirect services to students, including but not limited to, individual, relationship, and group therapy, clinical consultation and outreach programming.

*Individual and group counseling to students/clients; psychological assessment; developmental and crisis counseling; and couples counseling

*Development and participation in outreach programming

*Consultation with faculty, staff, parents, and others

*Participation in evening programing

*General administrative responsibilities

*Participate in supervision and training, as assigned

*Community collaboration

*Provide training and psychoeducational sessions with students, staff, faculty, and others


Physical Effort

This is primarily a sedentary position, requiring the need to sit or stand for prolonged periods.

Basic mobility to traverse campus is required.
