We are looking for an experienced applications developer to provide technical support in the development and maintenance of highly complex, mission critical, automated, online, and batch data processing systems for our Driver and Vehicles Services client programs. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This Senior Applications Developer position serves as a technical lead for all phases of system development life cycle on mid to large scale projects for the Driver and Vehicle Services Applications Division, Bureau of Solutions Management, within the Office of Administration Infrastructure and Economic Development Delivery Center.

Work utilizes a variety of tools including BMC Remedy, Check-In and Daptiv, Microsoft Project, Microsoft Visio, Azure DevOps, and Microsoft Team Foundation Server.

You will be responsible for:

  • Systems analysis, design, and implementation of projects
  • Unit, System, and User Acceptance Testing which involves devising data verification methods and procedures
  • Creating detailed assessments and alternatives for necessary modifications and development in Driver License and Controls System applications

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • This position requires periodic production implementation release support on Sundays, approximately 5-10 times per year.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) full-time, with the requirement to report to the office once a month. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as an Applications Developer 2 or Computer Programmer 4; or
  • Five years of information technology experience that includes three years of experience in applications development or applications maintenance; or
  • Three years of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and an associate's degree in any information technology field; or
  • One year of information technology experience in applications development or applications maintenance, and a bachelor's degree in any information technology field; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:

  • This particular position also requires three or more years of full-time experience in applications development using SDLC processes.
  • This particular position also requires three or more years of full-time experience with IBM OS/MVS COBOL programming.
  • This particular position also requires three or more years of full-time experience with IBM IMS DB/DC platform.
