DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will prepare materials related to the certification of child care centers, group child care homes, and family child care homes. You will be responsible for the following:

  • Proofreading materials prior to typing for errors and inconsistencies on applications, letters, or other material submitted by the applicant or the certification representative
  • Notifying the Early Learning Program Regional Manager or Certification Supervisor if any errors are found
  • Filing all completed certification materials for child care centers, group child care homes, and family child care homes
  • Preparing lists for mailing to agencies and the general public as requested

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will report to the Northeast Regional office in Scranton. It is possible during the training period, more frequent days in the office will be required.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (commonwealth title); or
  • Graduation from high school; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.


Special Requirements:

  • This position requires keyboarding skills to meet standards for speed and accuracy.
  • This position requires the ability to take and transcribe dictation.
