The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for managing all Warehousing operations at the Upper Merion Biopharm site, ensuring strict adherence to all current EHS/OSHA and GMP requirements. Manage team of Warehouse Supervisor and Associates (both full time and contingent workers).

The Warehouse Manager works with all central business unit leaders to provide the services required to run operations at site, including management of all inbound and outbound shipping/receiving of all raw materials, consumables, bulk drug substance, and sample shipments along with all required inventory management practices including cycle counts. The Warehouse Manager will also be accountable to develop and implement both short and long-term business strategies to expand and develop the Warehouse department in line with our rapidly growing business.

The Warehouse Manager will partner closely with Material Planning team to ensure visibility and alignment on inbound raw material volumes, stock level changes and risks. They will translate this into storage capacity utilization, with the ability to analyse multiple scenarios to drive key business decisions on capacity management. The Warehouse Manager will also partner closely with the Scheduling & Logistics team to ensure full alignment with integrated site schedules all Value Streams. This understanding will be key to ensuring the Warehouse team can meet the needs of the site to maintain supply. Additionally, this partnership will provide alignment on all critical bulk drug substance and sample shipments that must be executed by the Warehouse team, including support in validation and distribution risk assessment activities. Close partnership in these two areas will be critical to ensuring the Warehouse workforce is aligned to the operational needs and business goals of our multi-product facility.

The Warehouse Manager will work with Site Leadership Team to drive business decisions on Warehouse capacity management and continuous improvement efforts to drive productivity and cost savings.

  • Accountable to ensure and enforce strict adherence to all GSK EHS, OSHA, and GMP/FDA guidelines, and that procedures in place are appropriate to ensure adherence.
  • Accountable for Warehouse budget and ensuring budget is set appropriately and met.
  • Oversight of all inbound/outbound shipping and receiving of all raw materials, components, consumables, analytical samples and bulk drug substance, and parcels. This includes material deliveries to production and lab areas, parcel deliveries throughout site to maintain supply.
  • Inventory management of all materials owned by Warehouse team, including but not limited to consumables including central storage area and production and lab consumables storage.
  • Accountable for all Warehouse equipment, including managing leases, maintenance work orders, repairs, safety training and operation.
  • Implement and sustain GPS standards in Warehouse operations (5S, tiered accountability, KPIs/performance management)
  • Design, implement and maintain Warehouse operations KPIs.
  • Oversee and maintain up-to-date capacity utilization measures for all Warehouse storage areas (ambient, cold rooms, freezers, flammable storage) - run capacity modelling scenarios to identify and implement capacity utilization improvements as required.
  • Procedures: Ensure compliance with relevant Standard Operating Procedures and cGMP practices and oversee preparation, review, and maintenance of department procedures, SOPs, WIs, and training documents.
  • Responsible for developing, coaching, and performance management of Warehouse team including indirect reports.
  • Partner with Scheduling & Logistics Manager and team to develop drug substance storage strategy and manage capacity. Ensure drug substance is shipped in accordance with local and above site SOPs as well as Good Distribution Practices.

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals:

  • Bachelor's degree OR 4+ years ofexperience managing a GMP and regulated Warehouse facility
  • 5+ years of experience in GMP manufacturing facility
  • 3+ years of experience in people leadership with direct reports
  • Experience in ERP data entry and management, controls, and troubleshooting
  • Cold chain experience

Preferred Qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

  • Intermediate computer literacy; Excel, Word, Power BI, ERP.
  • Excellent reading, writing and communication skills
  • Experience leading a GMP Warehouse facility.
  • Second line leadership in a Manufacturing or production facility, preferably cGMP.
  • Demonstrated ability to use tools such as MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, to analyze, document, and share short- and long-term strategies and proposals across all levels.
  • Demonstrated ability to benchmark across teams and sites, define best practices for sites and driving adoption of these best practices.
  • APICS Certification as Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) or Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in managing hazardous materials in Warehouse, shipping/managing dangerous goods (IATA cert preferred but not required)
  • This position must be skilled in warehouse activities in relation to dispatch and 3rd Party Logistics Providers, shipping routes, and activities around the global network including shipping validation.
  • Proven ability to design and deploy continuous improvement initiatives, improving efficiency and reducing cycle time.
  • Significant experience leading teams through preparation and execution of regulatory audits
  • Experience leading and implementing Lean Warehousing principles.
  • Lean or Six Sigma certification and demonstrated ability to utilize and coach others in principles.
