THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, your main responsibilities will involve handling accident damage invoices and acting as a point of contact for internal and external customers in relation to insurance claims. You will also gather additional information from insurance companies as needed, which may involve reaching out to district and/or county damage claims coordinators for clarification on repair/replacement costs, property damage details, and verification of the location of the damage. Additionally, you will update accident damage claims with relevant information such as the insurance claim number, claim filed date, and any important notes regarding the claim, such as the absence of insurance coverage at the time of the accident or contacting DMV staff for insurance/registration information. It will be important to maintain a desk manual of current operating procedures and policies for this role, and you may be assigned other related duties as well.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to your headquarters location.
  • Position headquarters to be the closest County Maintenance Office or District Office from home address.
  • This position is eligible for alternate work schedule
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Fiscal Assistant; or
  • Three years of work involving the maintenance of fiscal or financial records, including one year of responsible work which involves the application of accounting or fiscal principles and practices; and graduation from high school; or
  • One year of experience in maintaining and reviewing fiscal records and an Associate degree in accounting or business administration; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.
