Description

SPAARK, Inc., is seeking a Regional Social Worker to support the soldiers of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard in the Annville, PA region.

A Regional Social Worker (RSW) provides psychological health services to members of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard (PAARNG) promoting health and wellness in order to maintain operational deployability and medical readiness. RSW's primarily assess, refer, and perform case management to support the soldiers in their region requiring psychological health services. RSW's are the subject matter experts regarding behavioral health and provide education and support to their units and Commanders. In addition to case management services, RSW's provide briefings and attend wellness events in support of their units.

Qualifications

A qualified candidate MUST have:

  • A valid Master of Social Work Degree from an educational institution accredited by the Council on Social Work Education (CSWE).
  • A current Social Work License that is in good standing.
  • 2 years of experience working in social work or other mental health services.
  • The ability to obtain a security clearance.
  • Ability to be on call one weekend every 8 weeks.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Ability to work independently with minimal in-person support.
  • Ability to effectively manage and track a changing caseload and to maintain monthly contact with soldiers on their caseload, primarily by phone.
  • Appropriate training in assessment and crisis intervention.
  • Experience working with military personnel or knowledge of military culture (preferred).
  • Ability to provide crisis management guidance to military personnel to ensure soldiers in crisis remain safe.
  • Excellent oral, written, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to collect and report data.
  • Ability to routinely use computer applications and software, including Microsoft Teams.
  • Knowledge of electronic health records.
  • Ability to build professional relationships and collaborate with other departments and agencies to integrate resources, plan, and deliver comprehensive support services.

Travel:

  • Occasional travel within your region to attend drill or wellness events is necessary.
