As a Clerical Assistant 2, you perform intake duties related to applications for death and fetal death certificates. This involves assessing eligibility, reviewing photo identification, verifying fees or eligibility for fee waivers, and typing information from applications into the vital statistics system. You also process and analyze applications for death and fetal death certificates. This involves searching for the death or fetal death record in the vital statistics system, assessing the reason for the request, reviewing the requested record for status holds or registration issues, referring applications that cannot be processed to the appropriate queue, and validating acceptable orders for issuance and completion. In addition, you print select death and fetal death certificates on the correct security paper, as required, maintain an accurate accounting of assigned security paper, and assemble data about the type and amount of work performed by completing a daily production report.
