Job Description

Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms, with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking an Systems Infrastructure Engineer to be responsible for managing and supporting the Firm's global infrastructure environment, and will assist in the ongoing development of new technology solutions.

Reporting to the Senior Manager of Data Center Operations, the Systems Infrastructure Engineer will provide technical guidance and project management for large-scale domestic and international projects.

This position will reside in our Philadelphia office and offers a hybrid in-office/remote working schedule.

Instructional/Support Activities Include:

  • Proficient with tools that monitor critical applications and infrastructure. This includes: alerting and escalation mechanisms, dashboards and overall framework to support the management of the firm's systems, network, and applications.

  • Works with the Architecture team to implement short and long-term strategic plans and ensure the infrastructure designs and capacity requirements meet existing and future business requirements.

  • Participates and leads in departmental project teams and task forces designed to streamline workflow and/or resolve issues; assists with various firm and/or departmental projects and initiatives as assigned.

  • Responsible for maintaining and conducting research and making recommendations on products, services, technology, and standards in support of infrastructure related procurement and development efforts.

  • Provides tier III support for client requests, incidents and problems related to our server and storage subsystems

  • Where needed, provides after-hours support to address incidents and to maintain systems, support operational efforts and implement changes that would otherwise create an adverse business impact

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and minimum 5 years of working enterprise experience in IT operations, system administration/engineering, or infrastructure role

  • Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project & Visio applications

  • Microsoft System Center, virtualization, & Commvault backup technologies.

  • A conceptual understanding of the operation of Active Directory, computer operations and network design topology

  • Proficient in Python, PowerShell, Bash

  • Experience with Azure services and/or AWS

  • DevOps for automation, provisioning, configuration management, and monitoring processes across on-premises and cloud resources

  • Containerization technologies

  • Windows/ Linux operating systems both on-premises and cloud environments
