Inventory Specialist Roles and Responsibilities:

We are seeking an Inventory Specialist within our Materials Management North America team located at our Allentown, PA Headquarters. This position requires 5% domestic travel.

The Inventory Specialist manages the North America plants and the Fleet, Engineering Technology, MRI, Customer Tank, Customer Stations, Hydrogen for Mobility, and Microbulk spare parts centrally located spare parts primarily at the Leetsdale, PA warehouse. This role is responsible for maintaining the appropriate inventory levels to satisfy the business' requirements and processes North American requests/questions related to SAP inventory management transactions and functionality. The proactive individual will develop and execute strategies for inventory stocking levels of key materials by collaborating with the internal businesses to ensure MRP settings are appropriate to support forecasts for new product supply and key maintenance activities.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • 5+ years' of inventory management experience preferred

  • Knowledge of SAP MRP or equivalent ERP MRP system is required

  • Able to effectively collaborate with business teams and driving accountability to ensure visibility of inventory and connection to products supported by inventory managed

  • Proficient in leading organizational change initiatives with a demonstrated ability to navigate conversations effectively with leaders.

  • Skilled in facilitating strategic discussions, enabling informed decision-making around company objectives and goals.

  • Capable of managing and fostering connections across inventory leads to ensure seamless integration and operational efficiency.

  • Minimizing inventory investment by utilizing SAP inventory functions

  • Reviewing each SAP MRP generated replenishment signal prior to releasing replenishment orders to Shared Business Services. Conducting annual reviews of idle/obsolete inventory and presenting recommendations for scrapping to the business

  • Conducting physical inventory/cycle counting at non-Leetsdale locations

  • Completing requests for SAP material master creates, changes and deletions

  • Addressing Vendor queries on obsolete, replacement, or updated Manufacturer part numbers

  • Presenting new inventory offers to appropriate Engineers for acceptance

  • Creating Purchase Orders for inventory repairs and non-inventory products

  • Addressing internal customer Inventory Management queries

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Supply Chain preferred; High School Diploma or GED required.
