What's the role?

The EH&S Manager will play a crucial role within our Business Services department in Dublin, California. Reporting directly to the Regional Sr. Manager of EH&S, the EH&S Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for all safety and environmental programs, ensuring compliance with Federal, State, and Local laws, as well as corporate requirements.

Here's what you'll do:

Environmental and Sustainability Responsibilities:

  • External and Internal Audits including ISO Audits (ISO14001, ISO 45001):

    • Assist and help lead and maintain the Environmental Management System, ensuring compliance and continuous improvement.

    • Conduct regular audits to assess adherence to ISO 14001 standards.

  • Sustainability Initiatives:

    • Develop and implement sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact.

    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into business practices.

  • Waste Management and Hazardous Waste:

    • Oversee comprehensive waste management strategies, including hazardous waste program and disposal.

    • Ensure compliance with waste regulations and promote sustainable waste practices.

  • Permits:

    • Manage and maintain all permits related to environmental compliance.

    • Coordinate with regulatory agencies to obtain and renew necessary permits.

  • Training:

    • Develop and deliver training programs on environmental practices and sustainability.

    • Ensure all employees are trained in accordance with environmental regulations and standards.

Occupational Health & Safety Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Incident Reporting:

    • Establish and manage safety reporting systems.

    • Investigate incidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective actions.

    • Enforce safety and environmental policies, guidelines, and procedures.

  • Emergency Response:

    • Develop and implement emergency response plans.

    • Conduct drills and ensure readiness for various emergency scenarios.

  • Ergonomic Assessment:

    • Conduct ergonomic assessments to enhance workplace safety.

    • Implement measures to prevent musculoskeletal injuries.

  • OSHA Compliance:

    • Stay current with OSHA regulations and ensure organizational compliance.

    • Implement safety protocols and practices in line with OSHA standards.

    • Ensure timely and accurate reporting of required regulatory submissions (permit reports, OSHA 300 injury/illness data, etc.) and corporate reporting data.

Do you qualify?

  • Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) in a related field.

  • 5-7 years of industry experience in a similar role.

  • Safety certification preferred (e.g., ASP, CSP, OHST, etc.).

  • Experience in conducting EH&S audits and developing corrective action plans.

  • Knowledge/experience with applicable laws, regulations, and standards (e.g., CE Mark, ISO 14001, RoHS, OSHA, etc.) required.

  • Strong communication and leadership skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with diverse teams.

The annual pay range for this position is $95,000 - $119,000

The pay offered for this role may be influenced by factors such as job location, scope of role, qualifications, education, experience, & complexity/specialization/scarcity of talent.

This position is also eligible for a performance bonus or sales commissions. ZEISS also offers robust benefits, including medical plans, retirement savings plan and paid time off.
