Begin The Turn is a mobile addiction medicine clinic providing low-barrier medical and recovery-based care, in a community setting, to people with opioid use disorder.
The Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) reports directly to the Program Manager for the Lewis Katz School of Medicine's Center for Urban Bioethics Begin the Turn Program. The CRS will be responsible for engagement with patients and community members in order to reduce stigma and provide peer mentorship, support, and advocacy. The CRS will assist patients of Begin The Turn by facilitating clinical care and services, assisting with participant workflow, and assisting with community resource navigation and referral.
Responsibilities include:

Required Education and Experience
Certified Recovery Specialist and/ or Peer Recovery Specialist certification and at least 2 years of directly related experience. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
Required Skills and Ability
Preferred
*Experience with crisis intervention.
*Understanding of identifying and diffusing "hot spots" for overdose
This position is assigned a hybrid work arrangement (on-campus and remote), the duration of this hybrid work arrangement is at the discretion of Temple University and the Department.
