Job Description

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.

Utilizing military preservation and packaging expertise, ensure proper packaging of NAVICP-managed items. Develop packaging requirements and input data in NAVICP database format, following MIL-STD-2073-ID specifications. Interpret complex engineering drawings and manuals for informed preservation and packaging decisions. Use NAVSUP-WSS tools and collaborate with teams to ensure compliance with packaging regulations. Contribute to supply chain efficiency by optimizing packaging processes and maintain proficiency in the Microsoft Suite for documentation and communication.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for the Packing Specialist:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

The Packing Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Utilize expertise in military preservation and packaging methods to ensure the proper packaging of items managed by NAVICP.
  • Develop packaging requirements and provide data in NAVICP database format.
  • Apply knowledge of MIL-STD-2073-ID specifications for packaging.
  • Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, equipment manuals, and instructions to make informed preservation and packaging decisions.
  • Work with NAVSUP-WSS database tools and applications to facilitate packaging processes.
  • Collaborate with various teams to ensure compliance with packaging regulations and guidelines.
  • Contribute to the efficiency of the supply chain by optimizing packaging processes.
  • Maintain a high level of proficiency in the Microsoft Suite for documentation and communication purposes.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The Packing Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • 5 years of experience in military preservation, specializing in packaging methods, articles, and items to be packaged, packaging materials, regulations, specifications, and guidelines.
  • High School Diploma
  • Working knowledge of the DOD and Navy Supply System logistic cycles.
  • Ability to develop packaging requirements for the entire range of items managed by NAVICP and provide data in prescribed NAVICP database format.
  • In-depth working knowledge of specifications, particularly MIL-STD-2073-ID.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings, equipment manuals, and instructions to determine material characteristics for preservation and packaging decisions.
  • Familiarity with NAVSUP-WSS database tools and applications.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Suite.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
