The Mellon College of Science (MCS) Departments of Biological Sciences and Computational Biology are seeking a full-time Research Associate III to work in the laboratory of Dr. Irene Kaplow. The Kaplow lab is interested in deciphering the roles that differences between species in transcriptional regulatory elements play in vertebrate evolution. We are also excited about using differences in transcriptional regulation between species to provide insights into gene regulatory mechanisms.
We seek a highly motivated Research Associate III to oversee and participate in lab operations, experiments, and training scientists without much prior wet lab experience. While the staff scientist's responsibilities will be almost entirely administrative and experimental, the staff scientist will have the opportunity to work closely with computational biologists.
