Job Accountabilities


Job Overview

The Plant Accountant is responsible for the generation of accurate and timely financial information, supports the Plant Manager (CMBE HV Philadelphia Site) and functions as a key member of the site leadership team, whilst also reporting to the CMBE Divisional Financial Controller, based in the UK.

The Plant Accountant heads up HV-CMBE's Finance Department and is responsible for all the site accounting operations, costings, local management reporting and group financial reporting.


Duties and responsibilities

Regular tasks

Month-end Accounts Financial Closings:
- Oversee accounts receivable and accounts payable closing processes.
- Preparing and entering monthly journals.
- Assess, complete, and report financial statements to Crown Corporate and CMBE UK.
- Comparisons of budgets/forecasts to actuals (monthly, quarterly & annually) commentaries and bridges.
- Creation and reporting of balance sheet reconciliations.
Budget / Forecasts:
- Preparing annual budgets and revised quarterly forecasts.
- Monthly income projections and analysis of changes in forecasts.
Management reports
- Provide site management with reports such as OTIF Tracking, Backlog, Job Cost, Inventory Tracking, sales margins and help advance and improve the reporting process.

Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable:
- Manage the processing of accounts payable.
- Approve accounts payable for processing.
- Complete vendor requests for establishing credit.
- Manage accounts receivable collections.
- Monthly bank reconciliation.
- Complete credit check for new customers.
Fixed Assets:

- Prepare payback analysis for capital projects.
- Enter Project Requests into the electronic approval system and track spending.
- Maintain the fixed asset register.
- Manage annual fixed asset inventory.

Other
- Ad hoc projects and tasks as required.
- If needed assist with processing the weekly hourly payroll.
- Cover and assistance to other CMBE sites.
- Providing input to strategic and financial decisions.
- Managing and consulting with external and internal auditors.

Annual tasks
- Prepare employees 401k profit sharing and incentive bonuses on an annual basis.
- Managing annual physical inventory counts
- Re-calculation of burden and salary rates

Job Requirements

Essential Skills and Experience.
- Five plus years of accounting with responsibility for producing full financial statements.
- Experience of reporting to a parent entity and adherence to corporate standards.
- Strong double entry skills.
- Good understanding of US GAPP.
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Experience of working with ERP or MRP packages.
- Excellent MS Excel skills and good IT acumen.
- A working knowledge of cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets and payroll.
- Experience of internal controls.

Preferred:.
- Experience of accounting in a manufacturing environment.
- Professional Accountancy qualification or graduated with an Accountancy degree.
- Experience of SOX Compliance.
