Job Description
  • Maintains knowledge of principles of hard-surface floor maintenance and use proper procedures on hard floor care including stripping and refinishing, burnishing, spray cleaning, and spray buffing
  • Operate various types of industrial floor care equipment
  • Utilize automated equipment for cleaning of large area of floor surface
  • Use the proper procedures on carpet and upholstering including shampooing, damp surface, extractions, spot cleaning, vacuuming, etc.
  • Perform maintenance and restorative processes for all floor surface types
  • Interacts with co-workers, visitors, and other staff consistent with the core values of the University.
  • Remove snow, ice or debris from exterior of building and sidewalks by manual or mechanical means.
  • Perform tasks in a safe manner without disruption or damage of University property

  • Performs other related duties as assigned by Manager.
  • High school diploma or equivalent or 3 yearsrsquo; experience required
  • Ability to operate industrial cleaning equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to problem solve, ability to understand and explain job expectations and duties
  • Exhibits a kind, friendly manner in communication with others, and the ability to meet the physical requirements of the position
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, directions or educational materials. Ability to perform minor arithmetic for dilution of chemicals.
