Job Description

As required by our governmental client, this position requires being a US Citizen, lawful resident alien, citizen of American Samoa or other territory owning permanent allegiance to the United States.

The individual is highly skilled in Aircraft Weapons Systems Maintenance, covering Airframes, Power Plants, Avionics, Accessories, and Support Equipment. They excel in interpreting engineering drawings, SERD technical documentation, and Department of Defense Technical Publications. Proficient in maintaining and interpreting NAVICP and DLIS files data, understanding Maintenance Plan and Provisioning Requirements, and familiar with NAWC and NAVICP organizational structure. They can effectively communicate with various professionals, including Engineering Program Managers, Logistic Management Specialists, Weapons Managers, and Equipment Specialists, regarding SERD actions.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for the Equipment Specialist:

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

The Equipment Specialist Responsibilities Include:

  • Proficient in Aircraft Weapons Systems Maintenance with expertise in Airframes, Power Plants, Avionics, Accessories, and Support Equipment.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, Support Equipment Recommendation Data (SERD) technical documentation, and Department of Defense Technical Publications.
  • Maintain, establish, and interpret NAVICP and Defense Logistics Information Service (DLIS) files data.
  • Understanding of Maintenance Plan and Provisioning Requirements.
  • Familiarity with NAWC and NAVICP organizational structure.
  • Ability to converse with Engineering Program Managers, Logistic Management Specialists, Weapons Managers, and Equipment Specialists regarding recommended or completed SERD actions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

The Equipment Specialist Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:

  • A High School Diploma is required or an equivalent.
  • 4 years' experience in Aircraft Weapons Systems Maintenance and Logistics Support
  • Specialization in one or more of the following fields: Airframes, Power Plants, Avionics, Accessories, and SE (Support Equipment)
  • Ability to assign and interpret Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SM&R) Codes
  • Familiarity with NAVSUP-WSS database tools and applications.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Suite.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal.
