About the Role:

Overview

We are seeking a skilled CNC Lathe Set Up Machinist to join our team at our facility in Hatfield, PA. As a Lathe Set Up Machinist, you will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes, ensuring the production of high-quality parts. This role requires expertise in CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) or CNC Lathe (5+ axis), as well as proficiency in blueprint reading, ability to interpret G-Code, and mechanical troubleshooting skills. Responsibilities

  • Set up and operate CNC lathes, including Okuma and Doosan machines, to produce precision parts
  • Read and interpret blueprints to determine machining operations and specifications
  • Perform machine setups for production runs, ensuring proper tooling, fixtures, and programming
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, measurement gauges, and other precision instruments to verify dimensions and maintain tight tolerances
  • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues with CNC machines, minimizing downtime and maximizing productivity
  • Write and modify G-Code and M-Code programs as needed
  • Collaborate with engineers and production team to optimize machining processes and improve efficiency
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, following safety protocols and company guidelines

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a CNC Machinist Set Up, with expertise in CNC Lathe (2-4 axis) and CNC Lathe (5+ axis)
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting blueprints
  • Strong knowledge of G-Code and M-Code programming
  • Ability to perform machine setups for production runs
  • Experience with mechanical troubleshooting and resolving issues with CNC machines
  • Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, and measurement gauges
  • Basic computer skills for program modification and documentation
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to maintain tight tolerances
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Good communication and teamwork abilities
