Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Construction Project Manager with a proven history in successfully overseeing commercial and industrial projects. The ideal candidate will possess effective communication skills, exceptional proficiency in Excel, and a minimum of 8 years of direct experience in managing construction projects from inception to completion. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and leading project teams, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Coordination:

  • Develop and execute comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget considerations.

  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.

  • Work with required departments and team members to determine project scope and requirements.

  • Ability to review drawings and provide specific feedback and reviews in a timely manner.

  • Responsible for proper legal contracting for all phases of construction projects.

  • Work with legal and environmental compliance departments preparing agency permits.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Develop the required teams for each project. This ranges from Architectural, engineering, Geotechnical or any other required specialty.

  • Identify and develop project bidders and secures qualification statements. Enforces company insurance and vendor requirements.

  • Lead and motivate project teams, fostering a positive and collaborative work environment.

  • Provide guidance and support to team members, ensuring alignment with project goals and objectives.

Budget and Cost Management:

  • Manage project budgets, ensuring cost control measures are implemented and maintained.

  • Conduct regular cost analyses and provide recommendations for cost-saving initiatives.

  • Ability to review payment requests, waiver requests and payment release.

  • Ability to implement cost analysis and value engineering to projects.

Quality Assurance:

  • Oversee the implementation of quality assurance programs to ensure project deliverables meet or exceed industry standards.

  • Conduct regular inspections and quality checks throughout the construction process.

Risk Management:

  • Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.

  • Proactively address issues that may impact project timelines or budgets.

Communication Skills:

  • Maintain clear and open communication channels with clients, subcontractors, and project teams.

  • Prepare and present regular project status reports to stakeholders.

Excel Proficiency:

  • Utilize advanced Excel skills for data analysis, reporting, and project tracking.

  • Develop and maintain project-related spreadsheets and documentation.

Client Relations:

  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing concerns and ensuring satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Function as the main point of contact for client communications.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field.

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in construction project management, with a focus on commercial and industrial projects.

  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other project management tools.

  • In-depth knowledge of construction processes, regulations, and industry best practices.

Conduct:

  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people skills.

  • Highly motivated, enthusiastic and works well with little supervision.

  • Strong organizational skills.

  • Ability to pass drug testing.

Travel Requirement:

  • Travel to project sites as necessary, up to 30% travel may be required.
