  • Make an Impact! Our HIM Data Management Technicians play an integral role in supporting the daily operations of our Electronic Health Information Management Systems. You would generate reports to perform reconciliation and auditing activities, perform complex merging, unmerging, and/or separating overlay of intermingled and/or duplicate patient records as well as chart correction and data integrity event forms. Additionally, as an EMR Superuser, you would train authorized users and provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance to physicians and other departments in the hospital. The HIM Data Managment Technician is a Remote position with one day in the office per week.

Position: HIM Data Management Technician
Shift: 8 hour days Monday through Friday (Rotating Weekends every 2-3 months wtih call)

Experience:
1. Two years of experience in a hospital, healthcare, or medical office setting required.
2. Scanning or ROI experience strongly preferred.
3. Experience working in EPIC or other electronic health record management software preferred.
4. Basic to intermediate Microsoft Excel proficiency required.
Working knowledge of personal computers, keyboarding skills, interfaces, SQL, HL7.
5. In depth knowledge of medical record content, documentation requirements and state and federal regulatory requirements.

Education:
1. Associates Degree in HIM or Health Information Technology and/or Analytics or its equivalent progress toward a baccalaureate degree required.
2. Approved Medical Terminology required.

Licensures/Certifications:
1. Certification from the American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA) as a Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) or Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) strongly preferred.
2. AHIMA certification in Healthcare Privacy (CHP), Healthcare Security (CHS), or Healthcare Privacy and Security (CHPS) or other credential from areas of Health Analytics, Health Data Integrity and Business Intelligence strongly preferred.
