Job Description
Job Title: Sales Assistant  Department: Sales

Summary
 
Primarily responsible for providing accurate data entry on orders for IKG’s internal or external customer base utilizing product knowledge, programs, and team members inside the Sales Department
 
Primary Responsibilities
 
  1. Partner with the Sales team to provide customers with service as outlined in the Sales department's policies and procedures.
  2. Process customer orders / change orders according to established department policies and procedures.
  3. Effectively monitor customer’s orders for accuracy.
  4. Preparing order documents before sending to the proper plant.
  5. Assisting in answering incoming phone calls.
  6. Requesting further information on orders that are deemed incomplete.
  7. Acknowledging orders in customer portals.
  8. Assist in quoting stock inquiries with customer procurement team(s).
  9. Perform other related duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience:  Requires a high school diploma with a minimum of 3 years’ experience.
     
    Language Skills:  Ability to read and interpret documents such as purchase orders, quotations, RFI’s, JSCR’s, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
     
    Mathematical Skills:  Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.  Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
     
    Computer Skills:  To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel software. Individual should also have experience operating in an ERP System.

    The physical activity of this position involves working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm, and talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word with customers and fellow employees.  This position requires sedentary work involving sitting most of the time, walking, and standing are required only occasionally.  The visual acuity requirements are minimal with work dealing largely with preparing and analyzing data and figures, work on a computer terminal and reading.  The incumbent is not substantially exposed to adverse environmental conditions.
