We are currently seeking a dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at the DC Department of Corrections. This position offers weekend shifts with various hours available on Saturdays and Sundays. The LPN will primarily work in the clinic, providing healthcare services to incarcerated individuals. The ideal candidate must possess a valid DC Nursing license and demonstrate excellent clinical skills.
Responsibilities:
• Provide nursing care and treatment to patients within the correctional facility.
• Conduct health assessments and screenings.
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed by healthcare providers.
• Assist in medical emergencies and maintain accurate medical records.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members to ensure quality patient care.
• Adhere to all policies and procedures related to healthcare delivery within the correctional setting.
Requirements:
• Valid DC Nursing license.
• Prior experience working as an LPN in a clinical setting preferred.
• Strong clinical skills and ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Reliable and punctual with excellent attendance record.
• Ability to communicate effectively with patients, colleagues, and other healthcare professionals.
• Willingness to undergo required vaccinations including MMR, Varicella, T-dap, PPD, Hepatitis B, flu shot, and COVID-19 vaccinations.
Schedule: Weekend shifts available on Saturdays and Sundays:
• 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM
• 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM
• 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM
