Whether you are looking to make a change or interested in growing your nursing skills, apply now and get onboard for an October 4th start date.Cardiac ICU (CICU) 10 Bed Unit on the 2nd floor of Sentara Heart HospitalPatient population includes: Cardiac patients (not surgical), pulmonary hypertension, heart attack, heart failure, sepsis, and this unit is the MRT for the Heart Hospital. SNGH CICUCardiac Surgical ICU (CSICU) 20 Bed cardiac surgical ICUNurses handle 1-2 patients on this unit based on acuity level.Nurses provide service to any patients that have undergone open heart surgeries such as CABG, Valve repair or replacement, aneurysm repair, TAVR, ablations, Heart Transplantation, and Mechanical Circulatory Support devices including the Total Artificial Heart and Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation (ECMO), and various lung surgeries.Nurses manage critically ill patients that require intensive hemodynamic monitoring, mechanical ventilation, multiple drug infusions, IABP therapy and CRRT.This 13 week internship will be didactic cardiac classroom lectures with modules, ICU documentation and initiatives, Code Blue review, Pulmonary/Vent lectures, Organ Management lectures, GI & Nutrition, Renal and hematology lectures, Self-Care, and Simulation Lab training.Experience:1year IMCU - Stepdown, 2 years of Medical/Surgical, or ICU Registered Nurses will be considered. $15,000 Sign On Bonus for qualified candidates!The Sentara Heart Hospital a 112-bed care facility is #2 for Cardiology services and Heart Surgery in the State of Virginia.
