SCOPE OF POSITION The Nurse Intern IIIwill function as an integral part of the patient care team. Provides direct patient care and support services to the nursing unit under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse. Adheres to the Board of Nursing Rules and Regulations for unlicensed assistive personnel by performing only those nursing skills that are delegated by the RN. Able to care for patients with varying levels of illness under the direction of an RN. Routine responsibilities include providing bedside care to patient, performing routine nursing procedures, transporting patients, stocking supplies and maintaining equipment, routine housekeeping duties as needed and documentation of care and procedures performed. The Nurse Intern 3 will perform blood sugar assessment, unlicensed respiratory therapy tasks, and/or EKGs as required in role with competency documentation. The Nurse Intern 3 must be able to organize multiple priorities and make independent decisions. Remaining in the role is contingent on continuous enrollment in an RN degree program with progression toward completion of an RN degree.

EDUCATION EXPERIENCE Must have completed the Nurse Intern II program or be a senior in an accredited Nursing program. Must have a minimum of 2.75 GPA to be considered for this position. Team members in good standing without evidence of active written corrective action and with a GPA of 2.5 will be considered. CPR Required
