Job Description

GENERAL JOB SUMMARY:

To develop, implement, and maintain quality systems in order to achieve the appropriate quality levels as defined by Gichner and customer standards

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Administers the Supplier quality auditing system and is responsible for evaluation of suppliers.
  • Maintains quality assurance surveys, on-site surveys, and vendor rating reports.
  • Creates and revises quality procedures and policies.
  • Writes quality plans and assigns inspection levels based on contractual requirements.
  • Reviews Gichner procurement specifications to ensure compliance with contractual requirements.i
  • Provides supervision and support to receiving inspection, including interpretation of specifications and performance evaluations.
  • Administers Notice of Defective Material (NDM) system.ii
  • Reviews nonconformances, determines/concurs on disposition, and analyzes trends and costs.
  • Analyzes and implements corrective action requests, and provides feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Prepares monthly and quarterly cost of quality reports. Reviews drawings for Configuration Management as needed.
  • Acts as backup for other Quality Engineering functions.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:

This position has no supervisory responsibilities

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by government standards

Ability to interact effectively with peers and supervisors

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

BS/BA in technical field, or equivalent experience

ASQ certified Quality Engineer or equivalent experience or ASQ certified Quality Auditor or equivalent certification or experience

7+ years experience in quality engineering role at least 2-years at a senior level.

SPC experience and/or training; geometric tolerancing; ISO 9000 auditor training
