These Retirement Benefits Specialist opportunities are located in the Technical Services Section of the Benefits Determination Division and are responsible for reviewing historical account information, analyzing a wide variety of data, and interpreting and applying the terms and provisions of governing policies, procedures, contracts, legal documents, and actuarial calculations. Employees in these positions perform mathematical calculations, provide technical assistance to other teams, and provide customer service. They serve as liaisons to the Chief Counsel's Office of SERS, interpreting domestic relations orders pertaining to divorced member accounts. Responsibilities also include calculating combined benefits for members with both SERS and PSERS service, as well as calculating multiple service disability benefits
