POSITION SUMMARY:

As we expand our business, we are seeking a high-energy Vice President of Sales, who will lead our Fuels sales team and drive profitable growth. As the Vice President of Sales, you will be a key member of our leadership team, responsible for developing and executing the overall enterprise strategy to achieve long-term company goals. Your focus will be on driving revenue, maximizing margins, and enhancing customer relationships within the Fuels division. This role requires a unique blend of sales leadership skills, industry knowledge, and strategic vision. This individual will collaborate with the supply and logistics teams to optimize sales structures, manage contract commitments, drive revenue, and ensure timely delivery to customers.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

  • Design, implement, and execute the sales strategy, from prospecting to deal closure, to achieve company volume, profitability, and growth goals.
  • Clearly define customer segments to properly balance volume and margin optimization in each customer segment.
  • Partner with the Commercial leadership to identify market opportunities and programs to capture value during varying market conditions.
  • Recruit, train, and lead new sales representatives to build organizational depth that support growth objectives across the Fuels business segments (wholesale, retail, and commercial/industrial).
  • Develop, and implement training programs for the sales team, expanding on selling techniques and petroleum industry knowledge.
  • Ensure meticulous attention to detail in sales processes, contracts, results management, and customer interactions.
  • Develop and maintain strong executive level industry relationships with key customers and trade organizations, decision makers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Analyze market trends, supply-demand dynamics, and price differentials.
  • Lead inter-departmental business process design, improvement, implementation, and ongoing management to create efficiencies.
  • Set clear performance expectations, and foster a high-energy, results-driven culture.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning process with executive team.
  • Prepare regular sales reports, analyze data, and provide insights to the executive team.
Qualifications

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum ten years of energy trading experience.
  • Bachelors degree (B.A. or B.S.) from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in revenue generation, with a proven track record of successfully leading high-performing sales teams within the Wholesale, Retail, and Commercial & Industrial business segments.
  • Ability to collaborate, provide and solicit feedback, express ideas both orally and in writing and communicate relevant and timely information to customers, managers, etc.
  • Hold a deep understanding of the energy industry, including supply, trading, and logistics, with familiarity of competitive products, market dynamics, and regulatory changes.
  • Clearly define and communicate sales strategies, goals, and expectations, through planning and performance metrics.
  • Ability to understand problems and make profitable, timely, practical business decisions.
  • Effective verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiating skills.
  • Strong computer skills; Experience working in MS-Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, etc.), Tableau, PowerBi, CME, ICE, DTN, CQG, Refinitiv
  • Excellent mathematical & analytical skills.
